Awarded Funding for Space Weather Data

Muon Space received a contract extension from the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center and the Defense Innovation Unit to gather ionospheric data through the MuSat-2 satellite, extending through September 2024.

The Department of Defense will assess the commercial dataset for applications in weather forecasting, ionospheric modeling, and climate research, supporting improvements to Air Force weather prediction systems and AI models.

The extension builds on the original agreement signed in September 2022 for developing a space-based prototype focused on global weather monitoring capabilities.
