Muon Space announced the successful deployment of MuSat2, its second ESPA-class satellite, launched aboard SpaceX’s Transporter-10 mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base. The satellite features advanced software-defined radio frequency instrumentation for DoD weather programs.
MuSat2 employs signals from GPS and other satellites to create high-gain radar measurements for soil moisture, ocean winds, and space weather monitoring. The approach builds on NASA’s CYGNSS and COSMIC mission heritage.
The launch came nine months after Muon’s first satellite deployment, demonstrating rapid manufacturing and deployment capabilities for mission-specific payloads.
