Muon Space Deploys FireSat Protoflight

Muon Space successfully deployed the FireSat protoflight satellite aboard SpaceX’s Transporter-13 rideshare mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base. The satellite carries a six-channel multispectral infrared instrument optimized for wildfire detection.

FireSat represents a collaboration between Muon Space and the Earth Fire Alliance nonprofit, with support from Google Research, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, and the Environmental Defense Fund.

The protoflight mission validates the constellation design ahead of the planned three-satellite Phase 1 deployment in 2026, with full constellation operations targeting 50+ satellites for 20-minute global wildfire monitoring.
